Providing Pre-loved bikes to the NHS during the Covid-19 Pandemic

TFGM provided funding for 200 adult pre-loved bikes to be reconditioned and distributed to hospitals across Greater Manchester. Our bike mechanics repaired a wide variety of bikes and a fleet was delivered to each hospital where they were distributed to staff.

Wythenshawe, Christies, MRI, Salford Royal, NMGH were all included in the scheme. Doctors, nurses, porters, technicians and auxiliary staff able to access the pre-loved bikes free of charge. A cycle helmet and accessory pack was given to each rider to ensure they could travel to and from work without using public transport.

Urban Cycle Centre are proud to have been able to assist our wonderful NHS staff with bike donations during the pandemic, in a supportive role to ease the burden of a national shutdown.
